About Mazaaal

Our mission
Mazaaal is a daily study path for learning and reviewing Judaism, at your own pace. Clear, sourced study sheets, a structured progression, and a review system that brings back what you are about to forget: everything you need to understand and retain the fundamentals of Jewish practice, in line with the official reference program.
Our method
Most sources tell you what to think; few actually make you learn. Mazaaal is built so that you retain, not only that you read: a progressive path that puts the ideas in the right order, exercises that make you practice, and spaced review that brings back what you are at risk of forgetting, at the right moment.
Our content comes from the reference texts of the Jewish tradition. We do not copy them: we restate them in our own words. Where the poskim differ, we say so without settling the matter: those questions are worked out with your rav.
Mazaaal is written and kept up to date by the Mazaaal editorial team, following a process of writing, review and validation. Our standard: that every fact be traceable to a source, and that nothing be presented as settled where the tradition has not settled it.
Our sources
Our content rests on the classical corpus of Jewish law, cited study sheet by study sheet: the Torah and the whole of the Tanakh, the Mishnah and the Talmud, Maimonides' Mishneh Torah (Rambam) and the Shulchan Aruch (with the precise siman), lit by commentators such as Rashi and by the poskim, down to contemporary Sephardic authorities such as Rav Ovadia Yosef. Every study sheet states its references: you can always trace a point back to its source. We restate things in our own words, never copying, and we claim no source that we do not actually use.
What Mazaaal is not
Mazaaal complements study with a rav and a community; it does not replace them. No page here is a rabbinical ruling, and nothing here decides your personal situation: for that, turn to your rav or your beit din. We claim no official endorsement that we do not hold.
Your privacy
We ask for the strict minimum: an email address and, if you like, a nickname. Nothing else. No trackers, no public rankings, no selling of data. Your path belongs to you, and it stays discreet.
Where to start
Our public guides, clear and sourced, are a good way in:
- The Shabbat guide: what is permitted or forbidden, cooking, the candles, Kiddush and Havdalah.
- Converting to Judaism: the stages, the length, the beit din, where to start.
